Pierre L. Morrissette Family Foundation gifts Western University $5.5 million to bring entrepreneurship campus-wide.
Our Founder and Executive Chairman, Pierre Morrissette, has consistently advocated for the importance of entrepreneurship education in Canada.
Western University students in London, Ontario, can now benefit from entrepreneurship support thanks to a $5.5 million donation from the Pierre L. Morrissette Family Foundation. Western itself is contributing another $2.5 million, creating a total fund of $8 million to support students through the newly founded Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship.
As a graduate of Ivey Business School, Morrissette knows firsthand that entrepreneurial programs have worked at Ivey, but noted that this donation is a chance to educate students in every faculty on the tools, capabilities, and mindsets that are going to benefit them in their entrepreneurial endeavours.
The gift brings Morrissette’s donation to Western’s entrepreneurial programs to more than $10 million. Morrissette has also shown his support for entrepreneurship at both Western and Ivey by serving as the former chair of the Ivey Advisory Board and founding co-chair of the Western Entrepreneurship Board.
